The Samaritans do few pilgrimages on top of Mount Gerizim per year. Sukkot religious festival and holidays starts with the pilgrimage on the holu mountain. The mount Gerizim is sacred to the Samaritans who regard it, rather than Jerusalem's Temple Mount, as having been the location chosen by Yahweh for a holy temple, built in 330 B.C.) and is considered by them as the location of the Binding of Isaac. As the High-Priest is too old to reach the top, one of the Priests holds the Samaritan Torah during the march and the pray.
